Research Interests
I am interested in identifying the connectivity patterns between brainstem centers that produce the rhythmogenic drive necessary for breathing. In addition to lesioning experiments and combined extracellular/whole cell clamp electrophysiological studies, I hope to utilize both optical and multi-electrode methods in order to better characterize rhythmic medullary structures.
